The Château is situated at the base of the Cotentin Peninsular, surrounded by varied areas of natural beauty and interest with over 200km of coastline to explore, you can find verything from rolling sand dunes to rugged cliffs. Why not sample the seafood and other indigenous culinary delights of the elegant costal ports of Barneville-Carteret, St Vaast, Barfleur or the busy port of Cherbourg?

 

Famously, an hour and a half to the west is Mont St Michel with its gothic monastry and  the Christain Dior museum at Granville en route. An hour to the east the historic city of Bayeux with its world famous Bayeux tapestry and cathedral and the nearby Omaha beach and war memorial.

 

The region is of course well known for the many D-Day landing sites and museums and sites from the Second World War.

 

Local sporting attractions include fishing in the sea or the myriad of lakes and rivers nearby and golf, horse riding, canoeing, wind and kite surfing, land yachting, walking and birdwatching.

 

The rolling farmland countryside scattered with Manoirs and Châteaux is mainly put to horse breeding and dairy farming from which the renowned Creme Fraiche D'Isigny and various soft cheeses are produced. You may also be lucky enough to come across some of the vast apple orchards that source delicious Normany Cider and Calvados.
